Weight trouble
      #2929152 - 08/14/04 04:28 PM

In game i have discovered that i have to put 68 weight units in my inventory before it begins to count the weight. I have dropped everything(except at constant bound item that i cant get rid of). Now i just want to know how i can reset my inventory? is there a ingame command that does the trick?

You can delete it yourself, just go into edit from the first post, and hit delete.

There is no quick and easy cure for your problem that I am aware. You can try a search of the forum for a solution. There seems to be a lot of people complaining of the opposite problem (overstating the encumbrance), so it can be confusing to find a thread that addressed your situation. I also suffer from under-encumbrance. I tried to resolve this problem for myself, but didn’t relish the ‘cure’ (I’m not completely certain that I understood it), so I’ve decided to live with it. Right now, I’m hauling around 13-14 pieces of dwemer scrap metals, just to offset my encumbrance bonus. Finally, a use for that junk!

try making this spell

Burden for 68 for 0 sec on self
soultrap for 2 sec on target

pretty sure the times are correct, if this doesn't work try switching the times, and im not sure if there is a 0 sec, if there isn't just do 1 sec

The following is derived from my archive of old TES threads that've now disappeared;

If your weight is LOW, the solution is harder, you'll need to fiddle in the CS.

Fire up the CS and create a mod that makes misc_soulgem_common weigh 69. Save this mod as weightbug.

Load up your game with the new weightbug mod active, then drop everything.
Your encumbrance will now be -68
Give yourself a misc_soulgem_common using the console
player->additem "misc_soulgem_common" 1
Your encumbrance will now be 1 (69 soulgem - 68 bug).
Create a new save and exit.

Remove the weightbug mod from your list of active mods.

Load up your new save and your weight be 1 (1 soulgem).

Pickup the stuff you dropped before & everything should be OK, assuming whatever caused the original encumbrance bug doesn't reoccur.
